Bequests
People who leave a bequest to the Hanson Institute come from all walks of life. They have shown foresight in their lifetime by leaving a gift in their will to ensure that our organisation is able to continue to provide quality service and support well into the future.
Specific Bequests
This option is for those wishing to leave property, items of sentimental value, works of art, insurance policies or anything of value. Careful consideration of this option is recommended as over time, the value of items may change.
Residual Bequests
After looking after family and friends, a person may like to share the remainder of their Estate among certain organisations or individuals. Many people choose this option when leaving gifts to charities, and will specify a percentage of the residue of their Estate.
Percentage Bequests
Rather than grapple with the complexities of choosing who gets what, many people leave a percentage of their Estate to family, friends and organisations. With this option the problems associated with inflation and low interest rates will not affect the final value of gifts.
Life or Contingency Bequests
People may wish to leave property or investment assets to an organisation or individual, but have a loved one that needs to be looked after during their lifetime. Afterwards, the property and investments can pass on to another beneficiary you nominate in your Will.
Perpetual Bequests
Some people choose to invest their remaining Estate with a Trust Company or other financial institution. The interest earned on this investment is then distributed to the beneficiary each year.
