Veterinary ServiceS DIVISION

General Overview VSD

The Veterinary Services Division (VSD) is integral to the major aims of the Hanson Institute and the wider research community, providing high standard technical and professional support for biomedical research. It has sites at Frome Rd and Gilles Plains. The  VSD is  continually examining the best way of  supplying high quality research animals including those imported from overseas. The VSD is also home for both polyclonal and monoclonal antibody production services. A  national research animal health status and testing service  (MVMS) is a key activity. The performance of contract research and development projects continues to be an important activity  (GLP recognized). The secretary of the Animal Ethics committee is situated at Gilles Plains and veterinary, scientific staff  and technical staff contribute to the activity of the committee.
